Our embossed rugs are hand-knotted by third-generation artisans in India using the finest New Zealand wool on a strong cotton foundation. Each rug is finished with natural vegetable dyes and features a raised, dimensional texture that sets it apart. Because of the extra labor involved in creating this intricate high-low design, the process takes longer - typically 120 to 150 days from start to finish. These rugs are made to order and woven with the same heirloom quality and care that define every Milagro piece.
Each of our rugs is handmade in India from natural materials, using techniques passed down through generations. Because they are crafted by hand, every rug has slight inconsistencies or unique details that make it one of a kind. Sizes may vary by 1–3 inches in either direction, and colors may shift by 5–15% from what you see online. Motifs, borders, and patterns also scale with size, so the final piece may differ slightly from photos. These natural variations are part of authentic craftsmanship. All of our rugs are produced responsibly with no child labor, supporting the artisans who create them. To extend the life of your rug, we recommend using a felt rug pad.
After being hand-made in India, each rug is professionally washed and arrives ready for use with no additional preparation needed. For care at home, vacuum as needed using a non-beater brush attachment, and spot clean with warm water and a mild, clear dish soap. Crafted with a 100% wool pile on a sturdy cotton foundation, these rugs are made for lasting durability.
