Meet Adriana Avant-Franco

Adriana Avant-Franco is a Charleston-based textile and wallpaper designer originally from Colombia. Her creative journey began with custom wedding invitations, where she fell in love with the art of storytelling through design. Over time, that passion evolved into a boutique line of textiles and wallcoverings - each one inspired by nature, travel, and a sense of home.

Now working closely with designers across the country, Adriana’s work has been featured in The World of Interiors and brings a layered, collected warmth to interiors everywhere. She lives in Mount Pleasant with her husband O’Malley and their dog Tango.

About the Serenoa

Named after one of Adriana’s own textile designs, the Serenoa rug draws directly from her Rooted collection - a tribute to the natural beauty and quiet strength of the Lowcountry. Inspired by the saw palmettos that dot the marshes near her Charleston home, this rug features a rhythmic, elegant pattern that brings both softness and structure to a space.

Adriana designed the Serenoa as a statement piece for her flex room, where it sets the tone for gathering, relaxing, and everyday life. With its earthy palette, timeless motifs, and meaningful roots, it’s the kind of rug that feels right at home wherever it lands - whether that’s under a game table or a holiday dinner.

Details

Each of our rugs is handmade in India from natural materials, using techniques passed down through generations. Because they are crafted by hand, every rug has slight inconsistencies or unique details that make it one of a kind. Sizes may vary by 1–3 inches in either direction, and colors may shift by 5–15% from what you see online. Motifs, borders, and patterns also scale with size, so the final piece may differ slightly from photos. These natural variations are part of authentic craftsmanship. All of our rugs are produced responsibly with no child labor, supporting the artisans who create them. To extend the life of your rug, we recommend using a felt rug pad.

Care Instructions

After being hand-made in India, each rug is professionally washed and arrives ready for use with no additional preparation needed. For care at home, vacuum as needed using a non-beater brush attachment, and spot clean with warm water and a mild, clear dish soap. Crafted with a 100% wool pile on a sturdy cotton foundation, these rugs are made for lasting durability.
