Meet Courtney Hummel

Courtney Hummel is a self-taught artist and stay-at-home mom from Louisiana. She likes to say her business began as a “homemaker’s hobby”. The trial and error painting began in her guest room over six years ago as an outlet and fun way to fill her evenings while her husband was studying. Over the years, she’s learned more about herself, style, and everything in between.

Courtney’s family and faith play a huge role in the inspiration department these days. She also loves eclectic styles mixed with traditional looks, which has influenced her work. Following other artists and interior designers who push the limits and think outside the box are huge reasons she’s not afraid to take risks and try new things. She believes there is art out there for everyone. “We never know if the ideas we are anxiously waiting to get out is what even just one collector is searching for,” she explains.

About the Rosalie

Rosalie is named for Courtney’s daughter, Rosalie, who joined their family during the same wild season they bought their home. The design pulls straight from the heart of Courtney’s keeping room, the first space guests walk into and the one she wanted to feel playful, layered, and full of life. Chartreuse lumbars, Lulie Wallace fabrics, soft blues, greens, and that slightly quirky, collected look she does so well all played a part in shaping this pattern. The result is happy without being loud and colorful without overwhelming a room.

Rosalie has that “art you can live on” feeling. It’s joyful, a little unexpected, and made for the everyday rooms where families actually spend their time.

Each of our rugs is handmade in India from natural materials, using techniques passed down through generations. Because they are crafted by hand, every rug has slight inconsistencies or unique details that make it one of a kind. Sizes may vary by 1–3 inches in either direction, and colors may shift by 5–15% from what you see online. Motifs, borders, and patterns also scale with size, so the final piece may differ slightly from photos. These natural variations are part of authentic craftsmanship. All of our rugs are produced responsibly with no child labor, supporting the artisans who create them. To extend the life of your rug, we recommend using a felt rug pad.

Care Instructions

After being hand-made in India, each rug is professionally washed and arrives ready for use with no additional preparation needed. For care at home, vacuum as needed using a non-beater brush attachment, and spot clean with warm water and a mild, clear dish soap. Crafted with a 100% wool pile on a sturdy cotton foundation, these rugs are made for lasting durability.
